You might not know it, but you can buy an electric car today.  These vehicles aren't a far off future dream - they're a reality, and you can own one.  An electric car is perfect for short trips and commutes that don't require a lot of speed or distance.  They're great on ordinary streets and highways, but some can navigate the Interstate system, too.

Why buy an NEV?  The same mileage that cost a gasoline car over two hundred dollars would cost only seventeen if you were driving one of these useful vehicles.  Other electric cars are highway ready, and can get up to eighty miles per hour.  However, they may have other limitations or cost more.  Any fully electric car has no tailpipe emissions, however.  That's a good thing if you live in a city that already has pollution problems.  Older models may be available for sale, but in many cases, a new electric car will be more efficient.
