Nissan plans to produce the first electric car mass produced in the USA. Plans are to have it out by 2010. The car currently has no name.
This will not be an electric/gas plug in hybrid like the Chevy Volt or an electric/gas hybrid like the Prius, but rather a purely electric regular car.
Electric only vehicles are limited in how far they can go before needing a recharge. However, this car is perfect for most people as a commuter car since few people commute more than 100 miles a day. If this car is combined with electricity produced from sustainable energy such as wind or hydro, then the car becomes a sustainable form of transportation.
Don't wait 'till 2010. You can buy an electric car today!
